How do I choose the right artist?+
Choosing the right artist is one of the most important parts of getting tattooed. A technically good tattoo can still be the wrong tattoo if the artist’s visual language, process or experience does not suit the project.
Look beyond one Instagram post. Spend time with the artist’s full portfolio. Look for consistency, work similar to the style, scale and placement you are considering, healed tattoos where available, and client reviews or feedback that mention communication, comfort, professionalism and aftercare. Do not choose purely by follower count, price, or who can fit you in first.
Respect the artist’s craft too. References are there to communicate direction, mood and subject, not to ask one artist to copy another artist’s tattoo. Choose someone because you genuinely like the way they work, then give them room to interpret the idea in their own visual language. If an artist’s natural style is not what you want, choose a different artist rather than asking them to become someone else for one project.
Listen when your artist recommends changes to scale, placement, detail or composition. They are thinking not only about how the tattoo looks fresh, but how it works on the body and how it is likely to age. A good client-artist relationship needs trust in both directions.

How do I book a tattoo at London’s Glitch?+
Use our booking enquiry form. Tell us your idea, placement, size and any reference images, and choose a preferred artist or style if you have one. We’ll match you with the right artist and reply within 3 working days.
Where is the studio?+
We’re in Southwark, SE1 — Arch 7, 166 Southwark Bridge Road. A short walk from Borough, London Bridge, Southwark and Elephant & Castle stations, with Mercato Metropolitano nearby.
What are your opening hours?+
The studio is open Monday to Sunday, 10:00 to 19:00.
Do you take walk-ins?+
Yes, walk-ins are welcome, though availability varies day to day and we can't always guarantee a free artist. If you'd like a specific artist, book an appointment in advance. If you're happy to be tattooed by whichever suitable artist is available, simply walk in — no need to call first. For a better idea of availability before travelling, send us a message or email the day before.
What is the minimum charge?+
Our studio minimum is £150. Larger projects are quoted by your artist, with day rates ranging from approximately £250 to £2,000 depending on the artist and the work.
Do I need to pay a deposit?+
Yes — a non-refundable deposit secures your date and is deducted from the final price.
How old do I need to be?+
Strictly 18+ — this is a UK legal requirement. If you look under 25, please bring valid photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence, as we may ask to verify your age.
Which styles do you specialise in?+
We’re a multi-style studio. Our artists cover fine line, colour, blackwork, botanical, ornamental, traditional, neo-traditional, black & grey, abstract, realism, microrealism, cybersigilism, cover-up, dotwork, surrealism, engraving / etching and avant-garde work. Each artist’s specialities are listed on their profile.
How should I prepare for my appointment?+
Sleep well, eat a proper meal, hydrate, avoid alcohol for 24 hours, and wear comfortable clothes that give access to the area being tattooed.
